Using and Caring for Your Compass

Hold the compass level and away from magnets, phones, electronic devices and large metal objects, then allow the needle to settle. Enjoy it as a traditional keepsake and directional companion; do not rely on it as your sole navigation tool for unfamiliar or hazardous terrain.

Keep the compass and wooden box dry. Wipe gently with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or soaking. Brass can develop a natural patina over time, adding to the character of a keepsake that has travelled through life's chapters.
