Keep It Ready for the Next Chapter

Set the tripod on a stable, level surface and secure its adjustments. Keep the legs and chains clear of accidental contact. Support the telescope and stand together when moving it; do not lift it by one leg or a chain.

Keep it dry, dust gently with a soft cloth and use appropriate lens-care materials for the optics. Avoid abrasives and unapproved chemicals, and do not force collars, pivots or leg adjustments. Never look at the sun through the telescope. For professional astronomy or safety-critical navigation, choose equipment designed and tested for that purpose.
